As you know, since Jan. 1st 2013 we have an updating of ROHS regulation as for new directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 (RoHS Recast). 

By now almost all of our parts are made in this RoHS2 compliance.

Since 1978, Suntan Technology Company Limited started in selling all kinds of capacitors from our headquarters in Hong Kong. And the capacitor can be divided into nine types of PET film capacitor, Kapton Capacitor, Polystyrene Capacitor, Polycarbonate Plastic Film Capacitor. But very few people know their respective media, features and shortcoming. So Suntan introduces four kinds of different plastic film capacitor to our customers.

Dear customers, if you have been concerned about our blog, you will find that in the recent days, Suntan's blog described a series of  knowledge about capacitor. By doing this, not only in order to better serve our customers and to enhance custmoer understanding of capacitor, but also we are a company with decades of  producing capacitors, which have the ability and obligation to help our clients to know more about capacitor. Today, Suntan introduces the knowledge point about capacitor --- capacitor's current and voltage, as well as the energy of capacitor.

Capacitor's current

The capacitor's momentary current i_c(t) is equal to the capacitance of the capacitor,

times the derivative of the momentary capacitor's voltage v_c(t):

The capacitor's momentary voltage v_c(t) is equal to the initial voltage of the capacitor,

plus 1/C times the integral of the momentary capacitor's current i_c(t) over time t:

Energy of capacitor

The capacitor's stored energy E_C in joules (J) is equal to the capacitance C in farad (F)

times the square capacitor's voltage V_C in volts (V) divided by 2:

E_C = C × V_C ² / 2

As we all know, Suntan is a Hong Kong based manufacturer of Trimming Potentiometers, Capacitors, Varistors, the capacitor is its main product. The capacitor by category, can be divided into plastic film capacitors, aluminum capacitors, gold Capacitors, tantalum capacitors, etc. If according to the circuit diagram to points, can be divided into series capacitor and shunt capacitor. Therfore, Suntan shows these to our customers visa blow the schematic diagram.

Since 1978, Suntan Technology Company Limited started in selling all kinds of capacitors from our headquarters in Hong Kong. Capacitors may not be strange to our custometrs, but how does it work? Presumably not many people know it, so here we will tell you.

Capacitor is an electronic component that stores electric charge. The capacitor is made of 2 close conductors (usually plates) that are separated by a dielectric material. The plates accumulate electric charge when connected to power source. One plate accumulates positive charge and the other plate accumulates negative charge. The capacitance is the amount of electric charge that is stored in the capacitor at voltage of 1 Volt. The capacitance is measured in units of Farad (F). The capacitor disconnects current in direct current (DC) circuits and short circuit in alternating current (AC) circuits.
